Miyajima is the most popular tourist spot in Hiroshima, or rather in western Japan, with more than 3.4million visitors a year. To my sorry, most of the visitors spend only a few hours there, just visiting Itsukushima Shrine and browsing through the shopping street. But, if you want to really appreciate this attractive island, you should stay at least one day (if possible stay overnight).
My father was born and raised in this island and I have spent most of my life feeling this island so close to me.

Now I feel very happy because as a tour guide I can visit Miyajima almost every month with my guests from various countries. Why don’t you visit this sacred island and spend one day with this middle-aged tour guide?

Itsukushima Shrine looks so beautiful with its vermilion building matching very well with blue sea, blue sky and the green virgin forest. Five-story Pagoda blends elegantly into its serene surroundings..
Every view is definitely perfect for a picture!
For so many years Miyajima island has attracted a lot of people thanks to its divinity and awesome beauty.

Every season it shows us a different charm, which will never disappoint you. However, with cherry blossoms in full bloom or gorgeously colored maple leaves, Miyajima definitely looks far more beautiful.

After visiting the floating shrine, why don’t we take a walk through a narrow back street with very few tourists or go hiking in the hill where the birds’ singing can only be heard.
If the weather is great, let us take a cable car to get to Mt.Misen.
The view of the Seto Inland Sea from the top of the mountain is breathtaking!
If your time and energy permit, let’s walk up to the summit. On our way I would like to take you to my favorite and secret place “ the shrine in the air!?” . I’m sure you’ll like it.
